GAITS includes an editor for defining Solution Types. The editor can set the number and names of the domains and the Innovation Maturity Levels, as well as the Deliverables. As of October 2026, five Solution Types are available: MedTech, Digital Medicine, Therapeutics (sometimes called BioPharma), Biomarker Diagnostics, and IVD. These five differ only in their Deliverables, and many Deliverables are shared across them. All five use the same ten Innovation Maturity Levels and four domains. Every Solution Site is based on one Solution Type.

A team developing a blood test for early sepsis detection starts its Solution Site on the IVD Solution Type, so its Deliverables reflect the evidence and regulatory steps specific to in vitro diagnostics.
