GAITS Platform
Also known as: GAITS, Guidance And Impact Tracking System
The Guidance And Impact Tracking System: software that healthcare innovation teams and the programs that support them use to plan, track, and report project progress from unmet need to standard of care.
Full Definition
GAITS stands for Guidance And Impact Tracking System. It implements the Healthcare Innovation Cycle, which measures a project's progress through 10 maturity levels (IMLs) across 4 healthcare domains. Each team works in a Solution Site built on one of 5 Solution Types. Teams plan their work as Deliverables and Work Packages and record progress as they complete them.
Programs group Solution Sites into Portfolio Sites to monitor progress across teams and to give mentors and administrators access. The platform also hosts the Stakeholder Interviewing Rules, the H-BMC, and the Funding Readiness Rubric.
Programs that use GAITS include CRAASH, NIH RADx, Blueprint, and POCTRN, as well as programs at BARDA and DARPA.
A CRAASH team records each Deliverable in its Solution Site as the work is completed. Its mentors review the team's progress in the Solution Site, and the Portfolio Administrator tracks all teams in the cohort through the Portfolio Site.
